1. What We Collect

WishThem.in is a database-free service. The only personal input is the name you optionally provide to build a greeting link (e.g. ?name=YourName). That name:

  • is not saved in an application database; it appears in your greeting URL and may be present in hosting access logs, browser history and shared platform records;
  • is sanitized and length-limited before being displayed back to you or a recipient;
  • is not used for profiling, marketing, or any purpose beyond rendering your greeting.

We keep two aggregate, non-personal counters (total greetings viewed, total shares) in plain files on the server — these store counts only, never names or identifiers.

2. Cookies and Local Storage

Our own preference cookies and local storage support functionality. Optional third-party advertising, analytics and merchant services may use separate tracking technologies when enabled:

  • Language preference (festival_lang cookie) — remembers the language you select.
  • Theme and music preference (browser local storage) — remembers dark/light mode and whether background music is on.

None of these are used to identify you personally or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

3. Advertising, Analytics and Consent

WishThem is configured for Google AdSense Auto ads. Auto ads use our publisher ID and do not require individual ad-unit IDs. Monetag is disabled. Google ads are limited to supported-language editorial pages and do not load on personalized links, other query variants, legal or contact pages, or error pages.

When ads are served, Google and other advertising partners may place and read cookies on your browser and use web beacons, IP addresses, device/browser information and other identifiers to deliver and measure advertising. Where permitted and consented to, Google may use information from visits to this and other sites for personalized advertising. On eligible pages, the AdSense script initializes Google’s consent-management platform. Google determines when the published European regulations message applies and handles advertising consent and serving. Optional site analytics remains disabled. Accepting advertising is not required to create or share a greeting. You can manage personalized Google advertising through My Ad Center and manage or delete cookies through your browser. Browser cookie controls are separate from a site's consent choices. When the consent platform is available, use its privacy settings to review or withdraw your decision. Google handles changes to advertising consent through its privacy settings; a page reload may be necessary for changes to take effect.

Optional analytics can measure festival views, greeting creation and sharing actions, language changes, festival-card clicks and affiliate impressions/clicks. Event fields use configured festival, merchant, category and placement identifiers, not names or full personalized URLs. No analytics collector is enabled or included by default. Personalized and other query-variant pages do not run optional analytics or advertising.

If enabled, links to Amazon India, Ferns N Petals, Winni or future approved merchants can contain attribution identifiers. Following a link takes you directly to the merchant, whose cookies and privacy terms may apply. WishThem may receive a commission on a qualifying purchase. We do not receive your payment details from this greeting service. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

4. Third-Party Share Platforms

When you use a share button (WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Twitter/X, SMS, Email), you are redirected to that platform's own service, which has its own privacy policy governing any data you submit there. We do not receive or store what you send through those platforms.

5. Children's Privacy

This Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

6. Data Security

Greeting names are not saved in an application database. Hosting access logs may record IP addresses, request URLs, browser information and request times, including a name if it is in a shared URL. A message sent to our contact address contains the information you choose to include. Hosting and email providers process that information to operate their services. Avoid using sensitive information in a greeting name or sending it by email.

Aggregate counters and configuration files are stored on the web server and blocked from direct public access. Exact hosting-log and email-retention periods depend on the service provider and operational settings. Contact us to request information, correction or deletion where applicable; we cannot remove copies of a shared link from another person's messages or browser history.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly if advertising configuration changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
